POETRY

slowly caressing my cheeks
tears unnoticed
you remain in your world

artist…
creating your own reality

painter…
strokes on an empty canvas

sculptor…
molding pieces of me

sitting together
offering to quench my thirst
oblivious to my hurt
blind to my sadness
around you, the universe revolves

I am here

gunshots…
and we grieve
another baby gone too soon

but let them sell

drugs…
they have no future
tomorrow another grave

keep them dependent

lives…
of little worth
generations, cycles of a system

while you continue to pillage

land…
a soil in my blood
our ancestors called home

the revolution…
