Absolutely agree on the platonic friendship part. At one point in my life the majority of my tight circle was men, and it was refreshing to see other perspectives without *romance* interfering in the relationship.

Your comment about "has to be a human being" struck me because I too have been open to experiencing romance with a non-male identifying person.

Recently the cosmos brought my path to cross with that of another gentle soul....am enjoying the ride.
