Did Medium Change Image Formatting Options?

Am borderline losing it over here

Generally, I keep my rants private.

But I’ve spent the past 48 minutes trying to figure out what the heck happened. My most recently published story (yesterday — shoutout to Tom Fenske of The Shortform), included a full-frame Canva image:

Today, on editing a draft I’ve been working on for two days, I found that the original [Pexels] image I had scaled to full-frame (takes the entire width of the screen) reverted to the smallest size. I had not changed the image nor re-worked it in any way.

When I click on the picture, the only option that appears is Alt text.

To trouble-shoot the issue, I created a “dummy” article. I saved the same image [from my original draft story] to my laptop’s folder, making it a larger size. Then I re-added the image to the dummy draft story. Nothing!

Next, I used another [Unsplash] image in a completely new “dummy” draft story. All to no avail — again, the picture appears in small size…
