Do you remember talking to your father about it?

I ask because if I could turn back the clock, it's something I would have confronted my dad about.

Another (different) story - when I was in college, I dated a Black American. He told me that his mom always warned him about bringing home some 'white girl.' Though we lived on campus and our relationship was short-lived (i.e., I never went to his home in Maryland), I remember telling him, 'well, I'm Puerto Rican, not white, so your mom doesn't have to worry.'
