Have you considered taking up a new language? Other than exercising the brain, it's a great way to build bridges with others - think of how you can connect with speakers of other languages right here on Medium. Turkish, French, Spanish....I'm sure there are others.

For me, I started learning to play chess almost 3 years ago. After leaving NYC, my pursuit of it waned, but I still have a guide book someone gifted me so I have hope to re-visit it.
