I return to this so many times since moving here to Borikén. When I think of what my ancestors - and our ancestors - lived through, their knowledge, their wisdom, my heart breaks.

It will sound heartless to some - and yes, I did reach out to someone I recently met who is Boricua and moved to LA some years back to ask if his family + friends were OK - my priority is still Palestinian lives.

Jajom for your piece, for your voice, for being fearless. There are too many cowards in the world. I am honored to have crossed paths with you and for this friendship.
