Medium Glitch, Though I Thought it was My Account Hacked

Earlier today, I found an alarming glitch on Medium.

As I crafted an article for The Taoist Online, I did as I nearly always do — ending with my profile’s URL: (https://whateverlolawrites.medium.com). But something strange happened.

Instead of the embedded link doing what it typically does (i.e., pull up the box with my pic on the right hand side).

Just in case you’re curious, it looks like this —

But what came up instead wasn’t the image of my infectious smile (taken in the summer of 2021, me sitting in my Slate blue/grey Honda Civic in the parking lot of my East Charlotte, North Carolina apartment complex).

Instead, I sat staring at the picture of another Medium writer, Grace Loh Prasad (whose profile tag appears as ‘Sad in California’). Somewhere between yesterday — when I last posted — and today, Medium’s system created a glitch whereby her profile somehow…
