I caught this YouTube clip of Mia Amor Mottley, addressing the U.N. General Assembly today. During her speech, I found myself finger snapping, slamming my right hand on my dining table and yelling at my MacBook Air “YASSSS, tear him apart!!!”
The reason for my excitement?
This intelligent and outspoken leader — oh, yeah, let’s be real clear here, she’s a Black Caribbean woman — addressed the Assembly directly after Netanyahu. She made no bones about her stance and criticism of the Israeli war criminal.
Speaking on world peace, here’s a little taste of what Ms. Mottley boldly unleashed.
On the RE-SET
We need a reset. If ever there was a time to pause and reset, it is now. Collectively as an international community and individually, as leaders in each of our countries, we must now deliver new opportunities and solutions to these crises which dampen economic growth, which restrict the ambitions of our people and numb our sense of the beauty of goodness that the world ought to be offering — because it has it to offer.
