Since moving to my ancestral motherland (30 Nov 2021), I've been doing a whole lot of learning & UNlearning.

And I've come to have trouble with this word, as it is often used to describe those who have - as well as those of us who currently resist our colonizers.

Violence is: oppression, displacement, gentrification, colonization, racism...the list goes on.

Though I'm not here to advocate murder in a resistance struggle, it's important to recognize that what our oppressors have done - and continue to do - constitutes violence.
