The U.S. Myth of Freedom
An assassination attempt shouldn’t surprise anyone.
America is the biggest gang in the world.

your stars + stripes
represent nothing
but oppression + terror
bullying + UNfreedom
to millions
around the globe
remember Iraq + Afghanistan
Cuba + Borikén
Argentina + Vietnam
Syria + Japan
Laos + Cambodia
Somalia + Palestine
to name a few
you hide behind words
‘freedom’ + ‘democracy’
‘equality’ + ‘liberty’
but those of us
who know you intimately
know these are
untruths
perpetrated by those
who refuse to read,
to UNlearn the lies
millions within your borders
+ many others elsewhere
refuse to wake up
to the monster of a
‘nation’ you are
how I pity them all
how I pity you
all I have to say is
it’s no surprise the nightmare
of your former ‘leader’
was nearly killed
your stars + stripes
are finally learning
its soil-stained hands
can never wash away
all the crimes
it has committed
how thrilled I am
the world is waking up
while you still sleep
no more lullabies
for you
you’re long overdue
to pay for the misery
you’ve caused
all of us
