This short piece brings a multitude of emotions for me reading it. The shift to so many years ago, you (and your friend) obviously at a phase in your lives when you're younger and have less life experiences.

That brief physical description of you both - I can imagine two very beautiful women (am sure you both still are).

Then transitioning to the new job and the pain of what I can only imagine that day held.

I am truly saddened that you had to go through it. And on the other side, I'm very glad your friend showed her integrity, stood by your side in support. As you noted in one of your tags - courage.
