Where Have The Good, Single Men Gone?
Hint: they’re not on dating apps
This past weekend, one of my single girlfriends invited me to an outdoor cookout with live music, a DJ, plenty of food, and adult beverages. With summer coming to a close, it would be the perfect opportunity to get out and socialize. She’s been trying to get me out so we can “meet men.”
Instead, I opted to stay home working on my website. These past few years I’ve put forth very little effort into dating. And while I’ve had no personal experience with those dating apps (other than Couchsurfing during my travels), I’ve known plenty of women who have. Their stories reflect a whole lot of ill-spent energy.
A few of the personality types they’ve encountered
Ultimate Alpha Male — charismatic and confident, women are drawn to him. Financially well-positioned, and driven, he’s convinced that he’s the whole package.
Mr. Misogynist — flirtatious and cocky, he’s eager to show her how special and different he is. Control is the name of his game. Whether it’s sexual manipulation or otherwise, his disdain for women often lies beneath the surface waiting to manifest.
